“ENGIE did not withdraw the energy bonus this month. I contacted them and was told that the bonus was going to be doubled next month!?“, loose Bernadette who contacted us via the orange button Alert us. “It’s crazy with these bonuses!“, laments this resident of Rhode-Saint-Genèse.
As a reminder, the federal government has released aid of 131 euros for gas and 65 euros for electricity. These premiums are granted per household and for the months of November and December 2022 (extendable until March 2023). In total, this represents aid of 196 euros per month.
If Belgians eligible for these bonuses have received them (let’s say rather that they have been applied to their invoices), some have not been so lucky. So what are the suppliers saying?
> Are you entitled to the bonus?
Supplier Engie offers the following advice:If you have not yet received the federal basic package in January 2023, you can submit a request directly to the FPS Economy from 23/01/2023 until 30/04/2023 at the latest.
Chez Luminus, it is ensured that since mid-November 2022, this federal premium is automatically paid with the installments, the breakdowns or possibly the amounts due. “What remains to be paid on December 31, 2022, Luminus will refund it to you in one go on your account and no later than January 18, 2023. While recalling that “they do not apply to second homes, temporary connections and customers benefiting from the social tariff.
Chez Total Energies, we announce: “you should automatically receive €392 (2×196 euros for November and December 2022) before the end of 2022.” The supplier recalls that in addition to the exceptions raised by Luminus, “customers benefiting from the social tariff will not benefit from these bonuses.
If the end-of-year bonuses have not yet been settled for everyone, the government has already announced that new bonuses will be put in place for the first months of 2023. On the FPS Economy website, we can read this : “The federal government has already announced that a second package will be granted for the months of January, February and March 2023. The exact terms of this allowance have yet to be defined legally, but it is likely that they will be similar to those of the first basic package.
