The Montreal Canadiens’ power play is the worst in the National Hockey League with a 13.6% completion percentage and lately it’s been even worse.
Captain Nick Suzuki didn’t hide his frustration regarding it Wednesday night following the 4-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
“We’re not playing well enough, our power play is embarrassing right now,” he said, unhappy.
“We don’t produce scoring chances and that kills our momentum. We have to be better, our percentage [de réussite] is embarrassing.”
Head coach Martin St-Louis added later, supporting the words of his young captain.
“It affects our key players a lot because a power play that works, it gives confidence that you can carry five once morest five.
“The performance of our key players is therefore greatly affected by the performance of the power play at the moment. We will continue to work to find answers.
