Apple shares 10 tips to better use the iPhone

Apple has posted a video offering 10 useful tips to better use your iPhone. The video comes as several people received a new iPhone as a Christmas present.

Here are Apple’s 10 tips for better using your iPhone:

  1. If you press and hold a subject within a photo in the Photos app on iOS 16, you can copy the subject from the photo and place it in another app.
  2. iOS 16’s new lock screen lets users customize different elements, including time and date color and style, add widgets, and more
  3. In Settings -> Wi-Fi, you can select a saved Wi-Fi hotspot and copy-paste its password.
  4. If you often write the same thing, for example your e-mail address or your postal address, you can create a text replacement in Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> Replacement.
  5. Short on battery life or want to save battery when you don’t have access to a charger? You can add power saving mode to the control center for quick access. Go to Settings -> Control Center and add it to the list of controls.
  6. If you want to share or move multiple photos to another app, just long press on a photo, move it, and then press on the other photos. You will then be able to drag and drop all the photos to other apps or places in iOS.
  7. If you want to quickly open the camera, touch and hold the Camera shortcut in the lower right corner of your iPhone’s Lock screen.
  8. You can now use the Live Text feature to automatically translate text in the Camera app or inside a photo. In the Camera app, point the camera at some text and tap the Live Text feature icon that appears in the right corner, then select Translate from the options displayed. This can also work for photos present in the Photos app.
  9. Using the Notes app, you can easily scan a piece of paper and create a digital copy of it. The Notes application will automatically crop and edit the image so that the document is readable.
  10. Want to know the first photo in your photo library? In the Photos app, just touch the top edge of your iPhone to go to the first photo in a specific library, album, or search result.
