According to the available information, the singer “died this morning, Wednesday, in a hospital in Normandy, France, from pulmonary failure resulting from her infection with the Corona virus.”
De Souza was born in 1948 in Portugal, moved to France in 1969, and worked there in the field of singing and acting, where her music was very popular in the eighties of the last century, and she presented popular and folk songs in Portuguese and French.
Her novel “The Cartoon Bag”, in which she described her life and her difficult path to the world of singing, achieved great success, and sold regarding two million copies. She also had many other works of art that were also very successful.
In February 2022, de Souza was the guest of honor at the celebration held at the Elysee Palace, which was dedicated to celebrating the “Year of Mutual Cultures” between Portugal and France.
