LG introduces a camera module with continuous optical zoom capable of going from 4x to 9x

MADRID, 28 Dic. (Portaltic/EP) –

LG Innotek has introduced a new continuous optical zoom camera module that allows the lens to switch between a 4x to 9x zoom range, giving you the ability to capture images without losing resolution.

The South Korean company has indicated that it will present this product, along with its household appliances and IT devices, within the framework of CES 2023, which will take place during the first days of January.

The main novelty of this release is that your camera has a continuous optic, allowing you to change the zoom range, compared to most mobile cameras, which have a fixed optical zoom (for example, 2x, 3x, 5x or 10x).

Thanks to this, this module integrates the functions of telescopic camera usually integrated in professional devices, such as reflex cameras (DSLR) or mirrorless cameras, as pointed out in a statement.

In this way, by applying what LG calls ‘optical telephoto zoom camera module’ on a mobile, the user will be able to film with optical zoom by changing between zoom ranges from 4x to 9x, maintaining image quality at all times.

LG believes that, thanks to this product, manufacturers of smart devices will be able to have access to more space inside the mobile phone and improve battery efficiency. Likewise, the Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) applied This new format reduces vibration blur and increases definition.
