Al-Marsad Newspaper: The researcher and historian, Dr. Muhammad Al-Zalfa, revealed the person who assumed leadership in Asir following the Ottomans withdrew.
He said during an interview with the “In the Picture” program broadcast on the “Gulf Rotana” channel: “In the last days of the Ottomans, they said that the Asir region will not calm down unless we involve one of its sons in governance.”
He added: “Al-Hassan bin Ali bin Muhammad bin Ayed was appointed as the deputy of the Mutasarrif, and when they withdrew, Al-Hassan bin Ali aspired to be the Emir of Asir, but the period was very short, between his aspirations and the emergence of King Abdul Aziz, may God have mercy on him.”
