All people who refuse to install the Linky meter will have to pay 61 euros more on the 2023 bill!
The rules will change for all people who refuse the installation of the Linky meter! From now on, you will have to pay 61 euros more on the 2023 bill! We tell you everything in this article!
3.8 million French people have still not installed the Linky meter
The Linky meter is present in 35 million households. But it’s been several months since its installation continues to be debated in Francethis. And for good reason ! The households identify several problems such as the deactivation of the green box. Indeed, Enedis has therefore deactivated the signal sent to the hot water tanks between 12 and 2 p.m. On Twitter, many people fear for their freedom. They refuse to have any total remote control and transmission of all their data.
So we can read the following comments on Twitter : “Do you know that linky shuts off all hot water during off-peak midday hours? And this until March so large families to have hot water in the evening must turn on the meter”, “So there it is foutage of g…. “, “so we will be forced to install this meter”, “fed up with this meter”.
This is why there are still recalcitrants! We then counts 3,8 millions from Frenchs, i.e. 10% of Enedis customers, who still haven’t installed the Linky meter. But the state wants to add more meters in France. This is why the Energy Regulation Commission (CRE) has therefore decided to tighten the rules. From now on, Enedis will charge you five euros more per month. It is then an additional sum to settle the additional costs that come from the passage of an Enedis agent during a classic meter reading.
You will have to pay more
It’s decided ! From January 1, 2023, you will have to pay a fine if you refuse to install the Linky meter. Enedis posted the following message: “From January 1, 2023, Enedis will therefore invoice customers who refuse statements. For an annual amount of 61 euros. Or around 5 euros per month “. This amount therefore has for the purpose of adjusting the Linky meter reading : “it is up to them to (…) provide the Enedis group with a self-report at least once a year”.
Before continuing: despite the sending of written communications and calls… They will be charged meter reading fees relating to the management of the reading of old generation meters. These costs are of course stopped in the event of the installation of a Linky meter “. It is therefore very bad news for the French who continuent to express their anger on social networks. So one thing is certain, the housing green does not really cause a sensation!
Even people who haven’t sent in their statement might be fined. But that’s not all ! The group is even stricter because it also plans to charge the costs “by reading the last old meters for customers without Linky… This can allow better management of their energy expenditure”. Despite the criticisms, Enedis appears reassuring. And then ensures that good use of Linky can therefore allow better management of its energy expenditure. That’s whati is reassuring in this time of inflation, where the price of electricity continues to rise! And where the cuts this winter are causing a stir.
