The President of the Angolan Athletics Federation, Bernardo João, assured this Tuesday, 27th, exclusively to the Kianda’s Mail, that the Ministry of Youth and Sports has already made funds available to guarantee the participation of international athletes in the 66th edition of the São Silvestre race, following numerous uncertainties.
Bernardo João said that for now they continue to maintain contacts with federations from other countries, in order to guarantee the presence of international athletes in the year-end race.
“We are working with the federations of the invited countries, we believe that by the 29th we will have everything closed and on the 30th we will have a public statement to talk regarding the whole process”, he stressed.
Asked regarding the availability of funds by the Ministry of Youth and Sports to ensure all the logistics of the event, the president of the FAA advanced that it “already made available the money we requested and we are working to have an event at the height”.
Recall that the president of the Angolan Athletics Federation had advanced to our newspaper that the participation of international athletes in the biggest end-of-year race event depended, above all, on the financial availability of the Ministry in question.
