This is a cable car that passes through the coastal waters of Sacheon, Gyeongsangnam-do.
On the roof of the temple looking down from the middle of the mountain, there is a large banner that reads, “Anyone who rides a cable car on top of the Buddha will be unlucky in life.”
The temple side filed a lawsuit to stop the cable car construction for reasons such as noise and invasion of privacy, but when it lost, it has been presenting it for five months as a protest.
Most tourists express their displeasure, but some interpret it as ‘not bad luck in college admission’, and since last month when the college entrance exam was held, regarding 50 students have visited.

“There are a lot of people who feel very offended when they see the banner, but there are also a few students who come to board because they say they are unlucky.”
The temple side insists on selling it, saying that the noise of the cable car has prevented it from functioning as a retreat space.

“Whether it’s building a (private) museum or, for example, an amusement facility, if there’s someone who wants to take over Daebangsa Temple, then I’ll demolish it.”
In the lawsuit for suspension of construction, Sacheon City, which won, was unable to mediate or compensate for damages, making it a frustrating situation.

“(Inspection) It is not a position that can directly arrange a sale, nor is it a matter to be involved in, so it is a private area, so a public institution cannot do that (sale).”
Although there has been discussions on the sale of the temple site recently, it is known that the possibility of success is low due to the large difference in sales price between the two sides.
