MBC filed a constitutional complaint in relation to the ‘exclusion of MBC reporters from boarding the presidential plane’.
MBC issued an official statement on the 26th and said, “We have filed a constitutional complaint today for the President’s Office notifying MBC reporters entering and exiting the President’s Office to be excluded from boarding the private jet.”
MBC explained the reason for filing the constitutional complaint, “It is because the restrictions on coverage undermined the constitutional value of freedom of the press and were abused as a means of preventing and shrinking critical reporting.”
MBC said, “The President’s office made it clear that dissatisfaction with MBC’s report content was the direct reason for the restriction on coverage.” added.
Previously, on the 9th of last month, the presidential office notified reporters entering the presidential office of MBC that they would not be allowed to board the presidential plane two days before President Yoon Seok-yeol’s first trip to Southeast Asia.
