Suspect arrested: man stabbed at Limburg train station Regional

Limburg – Bloody Knife Attack on Christmas Day! A man (54) was stabbed in the followingnoon on the station forecourt in Limburg and was seriously injured.

The incident happened around 3:15 p.m. in the followingnoon. Passers-by found the seriously injured man on Bahnhofsstrasse and dialed the emergency number. Police and ambulance arrived.

The 54-year-old comes from Bulgaria. He had multiple stab wounds and had to be flown to a clinic in a rescue helicopter. Initial investigations revealed that the act must not have taken place on Bahnhofsstrasse, but immediately beforehand on the station forecourt.

The perpetrator was initially on the run. In the course of the investigation, the suspicion of an Afghan (28) from Limburg was confirmed. With several police patrols, a helicopter and a police dog, the investigators searched for the man and were able to arrest him at his apartment in the evening. The suspect offered no resistance.

After consultation with the Limburg public prosecutor, the act was classified as attempted homicide and the 28-year-old was taken into custody. From there he is to be brought before the responsible magistrate on today.
