The mayor, Rudy Delhaise, shared the bad news on his social networks.
“Fate is hounding our town, this time with a deadly fire in Warêt-la-Chaussée. My most sincere and deep condolences to this family who has just suffered a new tragedy, on this Christmas day, with the loss of their 51-year-old son. Thank you to our police officers, paramedics and firefighters for their intervention which brought the fire to a single house under control,” he wrote.
Our colleagues from Sudinfo argue that the fire broke out around 8 p.m. this Sunday evening. Despite the intervention of firefighters, Marc. G., a well-known fifty-year-old in the neighborhood, died in the fire.
The origin of the fire is still unknown.
