Because the company Capcom declaredthat it does not plan an updated version of survival horror Resident Evil Code: Veronica, some time ago, a company of enthusiasts got down to business. A fan remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica was created on the Unity engine, and the authors even managed to release demo version.
However, the project was not destined to get to the release. As reported the creators of the remake Discord, the remake had to be canceled at the request of Capcom. At the same time, there are no signs that the company itself decided to take on the alteration of the next part of the series.
The reason Capcom decided to end the project was the use of the name Resident Evil, characters created by Capcom, and other copyrighted items. Currently, the amateur remake site is actually closed. And it is not known whether the team will be able to use the work done for a new game following the example Daymare: 1998.
