El Salobral and the Medicina neighborhood win the prizes for the Albacete Christmas lighting contest (Albacete, Society)

The Councilor for Neighborhoods and Districts of the Albacete City Council, Ana Albaladejo, has congratulated all the people who have participated in the Christmas Lighting Contest which, in its third edition, has exceeded one hundred entries.

Promoted by the Albacete City Council, the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Albacete (FAVA) and El Corte Inglés, according to the councilor for Neighborhoods and Districts, “we believe that it has fulfilled the objective of filling our streets, homes, balconies, neighborhoods and districts a cozy Christmas atmosphere, full of creativity and originality”.

Accompanied by the Councilor for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Laura Avellaneda, among other representatives of the Municipal Corporation, and the director of External Relations of El Corte Inglés in Castilla-La Mancha, Víctor Hernández, Albaladejo went to the Medicine neighborhood to visit the Bethlehem Living organized by the residents of the area in the Parque Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente, where the decision of this contest was announced.

AWARDS

On an individual basis, Olaya Sarrión, from the district of El Salobral, with her house of little soldiers, received a prize of 600 euros. Sandra Martínez, from Saturnino Calleja street, number 29, in Albacete, in Imaginalia, with her proposal on the Christmas Grinch, received a prize of 250 euros. And Antonia Ruescas, from El Salobral, a house equipped with a large Christmas tree and with the wish of Merry Christmas, received a prize of 150 euros.

On the other hand, the jury agreed to highlight the great effort of El Salobral when decorating the district with all the details typical of Christmas, including a chocolate house. You will receive a prize of 500 euros.

The Medicine Quarter, with its Living Nativity Scene and where, in addition, numerous houses have been decorated and illuminated, will receive a prize of 500 euros, plus the lighting of a street next year, by the Albacete City Council.

The councilor for Barrios y Pedanías has pointed out that “the jury has taken into account the design and originality of the decoration, the lighting, the use of recycled elements, the techniques used, the didactic content and the respect for popular tradition”. pointing out that “we have to congratulate all the people who have collaborated in this contest which demonstrates the great dynamism of the residents of Albacete”.

The prizes will consist of El Corte Inglés gift cards.
