Al-Marsad Newspaper: Counselor Turki Al-Sheikh, “Chairman of the Entertainment Authority,” commented on the criticism of some of his statements regarding the “turban that wraps around the head” and described it as not worn by the people of Hijaz and alien to us.
And Al-Sheikh said via a “tweet,” and he returned, “Do you know what is the thing that hovers the liver the most?! Someone comes to philosophize and say the patriotic cohesion and we are all one, why do you say that, O Abu Nasir! Of course, we are all one and we are all in Islam, there is no difference between an Arab or a non-Arab.”
He added: “But do not say that this is the clothes of our Saudi homeland and the clothes of our ancestors, and that it is inherited! Of course, those outside their shouting are rapture… rapture.”
And Al-Sheikh, through his tweet to him on Twitter, expressed his refusal to wear a turban by one of the participants in the “Saudi Idol” program, describing it as the heritage of the people of Hijaz, saying: “This is not the clothes of the people of Hijaz, and the clothes of an outsider to us, and she is not our aunt … the people of Hijaz on the eye and the head, but This is a distortion of our history, and we will not accept or allow the participation of any band or activity in the entertainment of the aunt.”
