Abla Kamel decided to withdraw in silence, and did not respond or comment on the rumors of her retirement or the reasons for her absence, and she also maintained her permanent habit of boycotting the media.
However, the captain of the actors, Ashraf Zaki, tried to explain and clarify the image, when he recently appeared on a television program to talk regarding some important issues, including a question regarding the artist Abla Kamel and the reasons for her absence.
He emphasized that her decision to stay away from art was her personal decision, noting that they tried to communicate with her and put pressure on her, but she always responded, saying, “God willing.. what is good in it will be provided by our Lord.”
They also tried to honor her at the Drama Festival, but she replied that she was not qualified at the present time, and asked him to be honored in other upcoming sessions, which they respected in the end.
Then he revealed his knowledge that there was a close friend of Abla Kamel from outside the artistic community who died, which put her in a state of great sadness because of what happened.
