The arctic front that we were waiting for finally passed through South Florida leaving Saturday with the coldest day of the year.
According to the National Weather Service, the temperature in Miami dropped to 48 degrees this morning, the first time it has dropped below 50 degrees since January 31, when the low was 49 degrees.
Today will be mostly cloudy with sunny moments to the north and a maximum temperature of 61 degrees.
The wind chill will be in the 50 degree range all day, but there is not much of a chance of rain.
This Christmas Eve the temperature is expected to drop back into the 40 degree range, with a wind chill in the 30’s.
There might be a few isolated showers Saturday night, but there is a greater chance of rain Sunday, especially in southern Miami-Dade County, although the weather is expected to remain dry in Broward.
The maximum temperature on Christmas Day will be around 56 degrees, with wind chills in the 40s all day and in the 30s range at night.
