The Ministry of Health has asked the Ministry of Aviation to strengthen the screening and monitoring of Covid-19 at airports. From Saturday, 2% of passengers on flights arriving in the country will be screened for Covid-19. The airline will identify those subject to random screening. If the sample is given, the passengers can go out of the airport. If the disease is confirmed, the sample should be sent for genetic sequencing, the Ministry of Health has suggested. Health Secretary Rajeesh Bhushan has sent a letter containing these matters to Aviation Secretary Rajiv Bansal.

The proposals were given in a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister. Minister Veena George also said that everyone should follow the protocol in case of global spread of Covid. The state is proceeding cautiously. The government is also checking whether the cluster is forming. In Kochi, the health minister said that people should be careful to put masks in crowded places.
