AMLO suggests that the US participated in a ‘coup’ against Pedro Castillo – El Financiero

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador suggested that the United States was involved in the process that led to the removal of Pedro Castillo as president of Peru.

“There are suspicions because They don’t even care regarding the forms. The first message following the removal of President Castillo was the message from the United States ambassador, and then when they declare a state of emergency, the United States ambassador goes to meet with the president (Dina Boluarte),” he said in his conference from Quintana Roo.

This was not the only ‘arrival’ of López Obrador to the US this Thursday. The president criticized the message with which his counterpart Joe Biden received Volodimir Zelenski.

“He puts on his Twitter (account), he says to the president of Ukraine: ‘Welcome to America.’ What happened, President Biden? Respectfully, America we are all And it often happens that in Europe and other parts, when people talk regarding America, they think that it is the United States of America. America is Peru, it is Guatemala and it is Belize, and it is Mexico”, he added.

The president has repeated his criticisms of the US position of ‘assuming’ its role as representative of the entire American continent on several occasions.

What I don’t like is ‘el modito’. What do you mean ‘welcome to America’? Let’s start now to change that. You are welcome to the United States, welcome to Mexico, welcome to Peru,” she added.

López Obrador will host Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on January 10, when he receives the leaders as part of the X Summit of North American Leaders.

Marcelo Ebrard, Secretary of Foreign Relations, pointed out that the following topics will be discussed at the meeting, which will take place at the National Palace:

  1. Diversity, equity and inclusion
  2. Climate change and environment
  3. competitiveness
  4. migration and development
  5. Health
  6. Safety

This is how the three nations will seek to continue the process of Regional integration on the principles of respect, sovereignty and cooperation in good faith, for mutual benefit, he indicated.
