The Syrian actor, Samer Al-Masry, admitted that he had not seen his mother for eleven years, recalling the most beautiful thing she used to call him following every work he did, as she had always described him as “the hero of the republic.”

Al-Masry added, during his appearance on the “From the Heart” program, which is broadcast on the Abu Dhabi Channel screen, that the actress Samia Al-Jazaery quoted these phrases from his mother in the series “Abu Janti”, in which Samia played the role of his mother and surprised him by calling him the hero of the republic with the start of filming.

The artist, nicknamed “The Colonel”, expressed his great longing for Syria, for his role in the series “Bab Al-Hara”, saying: “I miss the Levant, the jasmine, the scent of the earth and the sky, the good people for the simplicity in it.”

Best Syrian comedian
During the interview, Al-Masry described his colleague Ayman Reda as the best Syrian comedian, expressing at the same time his great love and respect for Ayman and his artistic value.

Al-Masry confirmed that he himself wrote the character “Abu Laila” in the “Abu Janti” series, and detailed this character to Ayman due to his great knowledge of him, and all his details, and he was able to present him with a personality that highlighted all his capabilities.

The Syrian artist recalled his life next to Ayman Reda, and spending time with him in the neighborhood, as the two stars used to go every morning to eat meat with dough and go to sit in the cafe.
