As we announced tonight, the Raid carried out an operation at the home of a man in Puyricard, chemin d’Olivary. Entrenched and armed, the 39-year-old individual was alone. No hostages had been reported.
But this morning, when the Raid had managed to enter the home, the man, to everyone’s surprise, had vanished following 3 to 4 hours of negotiations. According to concordant sources, the man would have asked to be hospitalized.
In addition to the Raid – an elite unit called in the event of the presence of firearms – public security personnel were also on site.
The Raid does not know how the man vanished, perhaps through a severed fence at the back of the home or through the roof. Several weapons were found in his accommodation, but it is not known if the fleeing man is armed. He is actively sought following.
