I was only 12 years old when Ángela Lucero Areyte, Flower of Rap, he started making music and it was not by chance. The horrible death of her beloved father marked her fate forever.
In conversation with the program urban, from TVN, the rapper recounted the moment when she, as a 12-year-old girl, witnessed the dramatic scene. She recounted that her father was separated from her mother “and she did not want to forgive him.”
One day, “my dad wanted to go home to sleep. We were in bed, it was like 4:00 in the morning or something, and the phone rings. My brother tells him ‘stop bothering me, I’m not going to help you go back to my mom if you keep bothering me, go to sleep…’ And my dad says ‘look outside’”.
At that moment, he says they opened the windows and saw an explosion. “She burned poh, gasoline was ignited (…) I think she took gasoline and spread it all over her body. She was left with 97, 98 percent of her body burned,” she recalled.
“With my little brother both of us standing there looking out the window. It was from a movie. he was screaming. I saw him like this, black, burned, on the floor. He still resisted and called my mom, ”the singer recalled to a surprised Maria Luisa Godoyhost of the program.
His angel
Flor de Rap highlighted the love she felt and still feels for her father, whose face was tattooed on one leg and dedicated more than one sentence to him in her songs. His death marked her start in music.
“It was when that happened that I got to know this… music, letting off steam, composing. That is what has led me to who I am… That blessing handed me over,” she confessed. “My first song, which was like my letter to heaven for my father … and I realized that he had the ability to make rhymes and that’s why I didn’t stop,” he added.
“I love him because he was the person who was with me when I was a girl. He was the one who gave me love, the one who taught me the values of life, things, how to read. He was a present father, he was the only one (…) he is my angel, I am sure that he helps me achieve all my goals, ”said the artist.
