New Delhi: The variant suspected of causing the spread of Covid in China has also been found in India. The BF7 Omicron variant has been confirmed in four people so far. The disease was confirmed in Gujarat and Odisha. The Gujarat government has announced that two people who have been diagnosed with the disease in Gujarat have recovered. The same Vakabhadem was confirmed in European countries, US and UK. BF7 is reportedly the fastest-spreading variant.

Meanwhile, amid reports of a resurgence of covid in 5 countries, including China and the US, the country has resumed covid screening at airports. Collection of international travelers resumes. This is to prevent the spread of disease by people coming from abroad.

In an emergency meeting convened to assess the spread of Covid-19 and preventive measures, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandavya had demanded that surveillance be strengthened at airports and masks should be worn in public places. The meeting was called by the Union Health Minister in the context of an increase in the number of Covid-19 patients and the death toll in countries including China.
