LGBT circles demand the application of the anti-homophobia norm against Alain Soral

LGBT circles are stepping up. Following Alain Soral’s judgment, in which the Lausanne police court condemned the Franco-Swiss essayist for defamation for having made homophobic remarks once morest a journalist from the Geneva Grandstand, six French-speaking and Swiss queer associations are indignant. In a joint press release, they “deplore the fact that the court did not recognize the incitement to homophobic hatred in its verdict” and announce that they have written to the Vaud Public Prosecutor’s Office asking it to appeal once morest this judgment. The judge having acceded to the civil claims of the journalist, only the public prosecutor can indeed appeal once morest the decision of the court.
