Details of the diplomatic crisis that broke out between Peru and Mexico – Latin America – International

Despite the disagreements between the authorities of both countries, this Tuesday, Mexico confirmed that it granted political asylum to Lilia Paredes, wife of former President Castilloand their children, who received the same day the safe-conduct from the Peruvian Foreign Ministry to leave the country to Aztec territory.

When will the elections be in Peru?

In the midst of the diplomatic crisis between Peru and Mexico, the congress of the Inca country approved a project to advance general elections in the country for April 2024with the objective that the mandate of the current authorities of the Executive and the Legislative conclude at the end of July of that year and not in the same month of 2026.

The project, which was presented by the president of the Constitutional Commission of Congress, the Fujimori Hernando Guerra, received 93 votes in favor, 30 once morest and 1 abstentionin a first vote that must be endorsed in the next ordinary legislature.
