This Monday, with the arrival of the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, the Marcial Quiroga Hospital will put into operation the long-awaited building expansion work. The new health infrastructure will have a multiplicity of services in pursuit of guarantee better access to public health.
The work has three levels: the subsoilwhere the machine rooms, pharmacy, medical records files and computer area are located, then the low level where the emergency services, Computed Tomography room, X-ray room and Ultrasound room are located, with their complementary and support areas. Lastly, in the first floor Intensive care and coronary unit care are located. In total, the new building has 7855.33 square meters of constructed area.
In addition, the new extension is linked to the existing building through four connectors: on the ground floor with the circulation of the north wing, on the upper floor with the circulation of the north and south wings and, also on the upper floor, the central wing with the surgical area.
On the other hand, the executed project also contemplates pedestrian and vehicular entrances. The first with access through wide stairs and ramps with non-slip floors, railings, and signage. While, for vehicles, the property has income for personnel and supply services and supplies, differentiated from the income of ambulances to the Emergency Service.
It should be noted that, with respect to the building, special attention was paid to the quality of materials taking into account the useful life of the building, seeking to minimize operation and maintenance costs. During the construction process, the building reached a peak of 130 workers and an estimated average of 71 operators.
