Defenseman Michael Del Zotto moved from the Panthers to the Ducks. The Californian club sent striker Danny O’Regan to the “Wings”, while the latter traded Givani Smith to the Florida team.
This is a return to Anaheim for Del Zotto, who played 12 games for that organization during the 2018-19 season. The 32-year-old veteran has yet to play in the National Hockey League (NHL) in 2022-23, having played 25 games with the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).
The rear, however, has an experience of 736 games in the Bettman circuit. He also played for the New York Rangers, Nashville Predators, Philadelphia Flyers, Vancouver Canucks, St. Louis Blues, Columbus Blue Jackets and Ottawa Senators.
The 20th overall pick in the 2008 draft had 63 goals and 199 assists for 262 NHL points.
Like Del Zotto, O’Regan has been restricted to the AHL this season. He did, however, play 30 games on the Bettman circuit and had six points with the Ducks, San Jose Sharks and Buffalo Sabers.
For his part, Smith has played two games with the “Wings” this season and has an experience of 85 games in the best hockey line in the world. He amassed seven goals and as many assists for 14 points.
