Opposition promotes plan “c” in electoral reform

Once the legislative process of plan B of the electoral reform is concluded and it is published in the Official Gazette of the Federation for its entry into force, a battery of appeals will be presented before various judicial instances, in what will be plan C driven by the opposition, warned the senator of the Plural Group Germán Martínez Cázares.

In an interview with EL UNIVERSAL, the former legislator from Morena pointed out that now there is a tie, since Plan A, which was the constitutional reform promoted by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, was defeated by the opposition; while plan B was imposed by Morena and his allies in the Union Congress.

He assured that following the reform of the secondary laws in electoral matters enters into force, “the field will be in several places.”

“In the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) yes, with actions of unconstitutionality that can promote, even, the parties, that we senators can promote; I am already willing to sign, let’s say, ”he said while emphasizing that it is clear that what the majority of Morena approved together with its allies is in violation of our Magna Carta.

He stressed that there is also the option of filing constitutional disputes before the country’s highest court and “that the National Electoral Institute can straighten before the Court”, in addition to labor lawsuits for unjustified or unconstitutional dismissals of district members.

Martínez Cázares explained that these “labor lawsuits are heard before the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary, that court is competent to hear labor disputes in the case of INE officials.”

Germán Martínez stressed that “those who feel their rights aggrieved by this law, which – I insist – we see [Ricardo] Mon-real and we are unconstitutional, and before that there must be an effective defense mechanism that lawyers have to work on”.

“We are going to a plan C. Plan A is defeated, plan B beat us, and plan C is the legal path in the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, in the Electoral Tribunal of the Judiciary of the Federation and in the District Courts”, emphasized the senator.
