Marco Odermatt scatters the opposition like a puzzle

Marco Odermatt managed a real demonstration during the first round of the second giant World Cup in Alta Badia.

Only ninth in the first run on Sunday, the Nidwalden had regained all his feelings the next day. The Olympic champion lined the doors on the Gran Risa with his style so poured. On arrival, the damage was significant for the opposition. Only the Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen was able to stay within a second (0”60).

Loïc Meillard climbed to third place with a delay of 1’10”. The skier from Hérémence, struggling at the start of the course, made a superb end of the race where he even made up time at Odermatt. Justin Murisier is further than the day before when he was in 8th place. He finished 11th, but has already paid a difference of 2.80.

Two other Swiss snatched their qualification for the second round on a course made increasingly more difficult by the passage of competitors. Gino Caviezel finished 16th at more than 3 seconds, and the Grison Danielle Sette, 29th, at 4”65..

The winner of the day before, the Norwegian Lucas Braathen experienced elimination very quickly.

Round two is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
