Steam Deck Is Now Available Across Asia, Along With New Client Stable Steam Deck Update

We’re regarding to see a lot more people playing Linux, with a shiny Steam Deck arriving on the doorsteps of many people across Asia. ICYMI: Valve hit a home run with Steam Deck’s first year.

On the official Twitter account of OnDeck, Valve announcement “The wait is over! Steam Decks are now shipping to customers who have reserved units in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan!” so it will be very interesting to see what happens from now on.

This really will be a ridiculously large increase for the number of Steam Deck players, and starting in January/February there will no doubt be some movement in the Steam Hardware Survey, which keep showing a new high for Linux users as it uses SteamOS 3 Linux.

Additionally, Valve just switched all recent beta changes to Stable for the Steam Deck client (not the OS). In the announcement Valve said “We have just sent an updated Steam client to the Stable (default) channel. This update includes all changes and improvements that have been tested in the Beta and Preview channels. and also noted these additional fixes added:

  • Fixed gamepad focus issues in the Steam store.
  • Fixed footer buttons sometimes not appearing in the Steam store.
