A setback for France; Reportedly, Giroud and Varane may not play

Doha: Before going to play in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final, France suffered a setback. Reports surfaced that senior players Olivier Giroud and Raphael Varane may not play in the final. Neither has taken part in France’s training ahead of the final.

Varane, who had fever, has not yet recovered from his illness. Several players were suffering from fever in the France camp. Varane was replaced by Daio Upamecano.

It is reported that Marcus Thuram may replace Giroud in the team. The absence of Giroud, who is currently in top form, is a setback for the France team. French coach Didier Deschamps has said that he will play a good game once morest Argentina in the final. Deschamps is the coach who won the title for France in 2018.
