Vatican City ∙ Pope Francis celebrated his 86th birthday by honoring 3 individuals who spread the rays of compassion in society. The Pope also presented awards named following Mother Teresa to the trio who were guides in their service activities.

Gian Piero, who lives in Vatican Street without a home, is known to the children of the street by the nickname Wu. Wu earned the right to receive the award from Papa by sharing what he got with his fellow beings. Pope Francis placed the pearl in the hands of Gian Piero, presenting the award named following Mother Teresa, the mother of the poor.

Franciscan priest Hannajalouf, who works among the poor in Syria, and Italian businessman Silvano Pedralo are the other 2 people who won the award. Silvano is famous for building schools and supplying clean water to schools. Representatives of the Sisters of Charity also attended the function.

3 sculptures will be handed over to Vatican Greece

Rome – Pope Francis has proposed to hand over 3 Parthenon sculptures which are more than 2500 years old in the Vatican Museum to Greece. These are marble sculptures that were part of the Parthenon, an ancient temple named following the goddess Athena in Greece. They are the head of a horse pulling the chariot of Athena, the head of a child, and a bearded male face. They have been in the Vatican Museum for over a century.
