Heavy snow warning throughout Jeonbuk… Traffic accidents in snowy areas follow one after another



On the 17th, a heavy snow warning was issued across the province, and a lot of snow fell, resulting in traffic accidents all over the road.

According to the Jeonbuk Fire Department, 31 traffic accidents occurred as of 4:00 pm on the same day.

At 2:15 pm on the same day, a small truck collided with a passenger car on a road near Geumsansa IC in Geumsan-myeon, Gimje-si.

In the accident, truck driver A (74) suffered injuries including a leg injury and was taken to a nearby hospital.

Earlier, at 9:45 am on the same day, a cargo truck slipped on an icy road near the intersection of Shin-gwan-dong, Gunsan-si, and the driver suffered minor injuries.

A firefighting official said, “Traffic accidents involving slipping on snowy roads are occurring all over the province. Accidents due to slipping in the snow continue to occur in the province throughout the day, but there are rescuers who refuse hospital treatment, so it is difficult to make an accurate count,” he said.

Meanwhile, according to the Jeonju Meteorological Office, the cumulative snowfall as of 6:00 on the same day was Gunsan Industrial Complex 16.9 cm, Gimje Jinbong 16.8 cm, Imsil Sindeok 16.4 cm, Jeonju Wansan 9.0 cm, Muju Deogyusan 8.4 cm, etc.

Currently, heavy snow warnings have been issued for Gunsan, Gimje, Jeonju, Imsil, and Sunchang, and heavy snow advisories have been issued for Namwon, Wanju, and Iksan.

An official from the Jeonju Meteorological Office said, “By the morning of the 19th, a lot of snow is predicted for some inland areas such as the West Coast, Jeongeup, and Sunchang.” he asked.
