Honored boxing coach of the USSR Valery Belov died at the age of 75. “Today, the honored coach of the USSR Valery Ivanovich Belov passed away. He devoted his life to boxing and made a huge contribution to its development in our country. I am very grateful to the fate that connected me with this wonderful person and coach, and he will forever remain in my memory, ”Povetkin wrote.
Belov in different years also trained the former World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) world champion Denis Lebedev, the former absolute world champion Konstantin Tszyu.
At one time, the specialist was part of the coaching staff of the Russian national team, in recent years he has worked in the Vityaz sports club with young boxers.
