For ten years, Elena Ksenofontova was Armen Dzhigarkhanyan’s favorite actress, moreover, she was considered a “muse”. And suddenly she left forever right from the rehearsal before the premiere.
In an interview with the writer Tatyana Ustinova, the actress did not name the insidious companion of the theater’s artistic director Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, but from her story, attentive fans realized that she was talking regarding the young pianist Vitalina Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya.
– There was a time of my happiness in the theater, but there was a time of misunderstanding and departure. The theater began to crumble. I fought for every artist. I was considered the “muse” of Armen Borisovich, and I had authority. Right before the premiere of the play, where I played the Queen of England, Elizabeth of England, the scenes with my participation began to be removed. There was supposed to be a beautiful nude scene with me, and it was cut. I refused to play in such a production and left. People from Djiigarkhanyan’s team shouted following him: “You will pay a penalty.” I replied: “Send the bill.” For me it was a betrayal on the part of Armen Borisovich. He begged me for a long time to come to work in his theatre. Long called, came to me. But a lot of time has passed, and I have kept in my memory all the good things that I had with Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, and I am grateful to him. I understood that they were taking revenge on me, ”said Elena Ksenofontova.
Now Elena Ksenofontova has a lot of work in the theater and in the cinema. In honor of the 50th anniversary, she organized a creative gift for herself – a new solo performance “Kalya-Malya”.
“I have never had such a role,” the actress admitted to Tatyana Ustinova.
Elena Ksenofontova also has a hobby – collecting Christmas decorations and decorating Christmas trees. By the way, one of the galleries in Moscow is currently hosting an exhibition of Christmas trees and drawings by Elena Ksenofontova.
