Kasaragod: Advocate for the accused in the Periya double murder case. C.K. Sreedharan appeared in Kochi CBI court. Congress leader C.K. Sreedharan joined the CPM recently. The first defendant, Kalyate Echiladukum A. Sreedharan will appear for nine accused including Peethambaran.

Kochi: The witness examination in the case of murder of Youth Congress workers Kripesh and Saratlal in Kasaragod Periya will begin on February 2 in Ernakulam special CBI court. The prosecution handed over the list of witnesses to appear. Summons will be sent to them soon. The court was given a list containing dates and names of 54 witnesses. The defense did not provide a list of witnesses.

The incident where the first accused Peethambaran was transferred to Kannur district Ayurvedic hospital without informing the trial court was controversial. Later, on the request of the jail authorities, the CBI court allowed the transfer of all the accused to the maximum security jail in Viyur.
