Endrik from Palmeiras
Joined when I was 18… It’s like a mouth-to-mouth
1st all-time for under-18 transfer fee
A 16-year-old boy from Brazil transfers to Real Madrid, a prestigious club in Spain’s Primera Liga, one of the five major leagues in European professional football.
According to European media such as the BBC on the morning of the 16th (Korean time), Real Madrid said, “We are recruiting Endrick (pictured) from the Palmeiras club in Brazil,” and “he will join in July 2024.” The transfer following two years, not immediately, is due to the rules of the International Football Federation (FIFA). FIFA does not allow international transfers of players under the age of 18. It’s like mouth-to-mouth. Born on 21 July 2006, Endrik will stay in Palmeiras before signing for Real Madrid when he turns 18.
Real Madrid and Palmeiras did not disclose specific terms, including the length of the contract. Endrik will visit Real Madrid’s training camp next week.
Striker Endrick is the future of Brazilian football. He is called the second Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain). In 2019, when Endrick was 13 years old, he was selected as the Brazilian under-15 (U-15) representative and was also included in the under-16 (U-16) and under-17 (U-17) national teams. He is also active in the first team of Palmeiras, a prestigious Brazilian club.
It is known that the transfer fee for Endrick, which Real Madrid will bear, is 72 million euros (approximately 100 billion won). It is the highest transfer fee ever for under-18s. The previous record was 45 million euros by Rodrygo of Brazil.
