Under this agreement, Star Paper Mill will invest regarding 200 million dirhams to expand its current project in Kizad, in cooperation with RC Paper Machines. This step comes within the framework of the keenness to enhance and support environmental initiatives in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, especially following the announcement of the ban on the use of single-use plastic bags in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, as of June 1, 2022, as this initiative is the first of its kind in the region, and includes a gradual reduction of single-use plastic products consumed across Abu Dhabi, laying the foundations for a more sustainable future for the emirate.
The new facility has large capabilities that enable it to manufacture more than 135,000 tons of recycled paper, in various shapes and varieties for the uses of the packaging industry, storage and general use, as the company will need to handle regarding 10,000 standard containers annually, through Khalifa Port to meet its needs for raw materials, and transport its finished products. .
