As always, public transport is not immune to the consequences linked to the demonstration, whether in terms of mobility in Brussels or in terms of personnel.
Although the expected disruptions are still difficult to predict, a single watchword for all travelers regardless of the means of transport: carefully consult the various information channels.
STIB is running with a reduced number of lines on Friday due to the national demonstration. As far as the metro is concerned, only line 1 operates and is extended to Erasme, notes the Brussels transport company on Twitter around 6:30 a.m.
As for the tram lines, lines 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 51 and 92 run. Buses 12, 36, 46, 50, 53, 56, 59, 65, 71, 87 (extended to Etangs Noirs), 95. The T-bus 92 also runs. The public transport company invites travelers to plan alternative travel within the capital.
At the level of the TEC, dSevere disruptions are underway on the Charleroi, Liège-Verviers and Hainaut networks. The Namur and Walloon Brabant networks are also disrupted, and the Luxembourg network is slightly impacted. If the SNCB does not expect an impact on rail traffic, it does expect an increase in passengers heading for the event. This is why the railway company will put into service eight additional trains to transport demonstrators to Brussels.
