JR Freight (Japan Freight Railway) announced on December 16th the details of the schedule revision from March 18, 2023.
Under the new timetable, in order to meet the growing demand for parcel delivery and other services in response to the rising demand for e-commerce, we will expand our transportation services, focusing on combined cargo. In addition to increasing the transport capacity of block trains between Tokyo Freight Terminal and Suita Freight Terminal and between Tokyo Freight Terminal and Hiroshima Freight Terminal by 10 each (five for each round trip), the Fukuoka Freight Terminal → The time required for container trains at the Tokyo Freight Terminal will be shortened by 2 hours and 14 minutes.
In addition, for the “Forwarders Block Train” between Koshigaya and Osaka/Kamihime districts, which started operation due to the timetable revision in March 2022, the time required for “Koshigaya Freight Terminal → Himeji Freight” will be shortened by 46 minutes. Establish a new “Suita Freight Terminal → Koshigaya Freight Terminal” (transport capacity: 10 units).
In addition, in addition to increasing the transportation capacity of the strongly requested “Tokyo Freight Terminal → Osaka Freight Terminal” by 10 units, “Koshigaya Freight Terminal → Hakodate Freight” (transportation capacity of 5 units) will be newly established. Furthermore, as a new direct transportation route, “Nagoya Freight Terminal → Kumagaya Freight Terminal” (10 transportation capacity) will be set.
In addition, in order to improve safety and transportation quality, we have invested in transportation equipment. 18 locomotives, 4,000 containers, and 50 cargo handling machines will be newly manufactured.
