Landslide: at least 8 dead, dozens missing
At least eight people have been killed after a landslide hit a Malaysian campsite on Friday morning. Rescuers are still searching the area for the missing.

Seven people were injured by this landslide which occurred near the town of Batang Kali, just next to the capital Kuala Lumpur and close to a mountain casino, detailed in a tweet the National Disaster Management Agency.
Landslides are common in Malaysia after recurring heavy rains at the end of the year. However, no episode of heavy rainfall was recorded overnight in Batang Kali.
Frequent dramas
The government has imposed strict laws regarding hillside construction, but landslides continue to increase due to bad weather. In March, four people lost their lives after a similar event buried their homes in suburban Kuala Lumpur.
In 1993, a gigantic mudslide caused by torrential rains caused the collapse of a 12-storey residential building, killing 48 people in one of the deadliest natural disasters in Malaysia.
