Apple has released the stable version of iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2 to users all over the world. A few days following the release of the stable version. As usual, the new update comes with two useful features. These features are intended to improve operating systems. However, the highlight of the update is related to the new security feature.
iOS 16.3 brings new security keys that work with FIDO certified physical security. This is used to verify and log into websites and devices. FIDO allows the use of common devices to authenticate online services. This can be done on both mobile devices and desktop computers.
What this means is that you can use your device to log into any online platform. Without the need for a password to log in. Simply put, your device becomes your password. Thanks to FIDO authentication. This new feature is also available for iPadOS 16.3 and macOS Ventura 13.2 users.
However, iOS 16.3 comes with additional new features. These new features include an Apple Card savings account. This helps you open a personal savings account with your Apple Card. Other features include Apple Pay Later. Apple Music classic and custom accessibility mode. You also get advanced data protection for iCloud. 
iCloud Advanced Data Protection is now available. But it is limited to users in the United States. With iOS 16.3, this feature is finally coming to users outside of the US.
iOS 16.3 release date
The official stable release will be available in February or March next year. Until then, trial versions will be available. Remember to take extra precautions when installing beta firmware on your device. Shareware can render your device completely useless.
Precautions to take before installing the iOS 16.3 beta
The reason is that the beta program is used for testing purposes. When a company introduces a new feature, they need to test it for a while. They usually call it the testers because they need their feedback. This feedback helps the company know what needs to change. It also helps them decide what to add and what to take away.
This is the reason in most cases; They made beta testing an option for users to sign up. Signing up for a beta test means you understand the risks. And that you cannot hold the company responsible if anything goes wrong.
