After the nine-in-one general election, the Kuomintang think tank “National Policy Research Foundation” conducted a “Current Affairs Survey and Political Party Image” poll from December 9th to 11th through computer-assisted telephone interviews. Ke Zhien, executive director of the think tank, pointed out that 70% of the people are dissatisfied with the government’s inability to rectify prices, and nearly 50% of the people think that Premier Su Zhenchang should step down; at the same time, the support of the KMT surpassed the DPP for the first time, with 21.9% supporting the KMT and 20.7% supporting the DPP. 6.9% support the Taiwan People’s Party.

Ke Zhien continued to point out that 29.4% of the people believed that the KMT nominee performed the best in the county and city mayoral elections, and 13.5% believed that the DPP had the best performance. Therefore, regarding the results of the nine-in-one election, most people believe that the KMT performed better in the nominations for county mayors and county and city councilors.
Ke Zhien pointed out that although the number of Kuomintang members in county and city councilors has not increased significantly, 60 of them are non-party members, but their political party tendencies are more inclined to the Kuomintang. The Kuomintang’s support for the first time overtakes the DPP

Finally, in the evaluation of political party favorability (0 means dislike very much, 10 means very much like it), the public gave the DPP 4.75 points, the Kuomintang 4.80 points, and the People’s Party 3.93 points. The Kuomintang leads the DPP by a small margin.
Although the KMT is ahead of the DPP, Ke Zhien still hopes to keep improving. He bluntly said that both the blue and green parties should be cautious and fearful, because the total score is 10 points, and the ratings of the two parties in the hearts of the people have not exceeded 5 points.
