Polish developer and publisher Sonka has announced their upcoming psychological survival horror game, Holstein
Holstin is set in the 90s in a Polish lakeside town. In this strange and isolated place, an ominous presence has slowly infected everything and everyone. A close colleague of yours came here seeking answers to a newspaper article. But following a series of inconsistent and disturbing messages, all contact was lost. Now you must venture into this terrifying town to uncover the truth and the fate of your friend.
The game is heavily inspired by the Resident Evil and Silent Hill series – the developers wanted to create a darker Twin Peaks vibe.
Holstin uses 2XD rendering technology which allows the team to create real-time lighting in a pixel-art game. A Steam demo will be released in January 2023.
