With the presence of President Fernández, the Nuclear Medicine Center “Pdte. Nestor Kirchner”

The inaugural act will be headed by Governor Gildo Insfrán.

This Thursday, December 15, at 6:00 p.m., with the presence of President Alberto Fernández, Governor Gildo Insfrán, will lead the inauguration ceremony of the Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy Center “Pdte. Néstor Kirchner” (CEMENURNK), located on the grounds of the High Complexity Hospital.

This brand-new center already cares for more than 100 patients, fulfilling one of its main objectives: to ensure equity and accessibility for the entire population to infrastructure, state-of-the-art equipment, and the training of professional and technical human resources.

It is a unique work in the northern region of the country that is part of the provincial health pole, to provide diagnoses and treatment to the entire community, with or without social work.

In this regard, the general manager of the institution, Martin Mutuberría, spoke with AGENFOR and expressed that “it is a pride to have this center, that it is in operation and receive the presence of the President of the Nation and the Governor.”

“Beyond the pride that having this center represents for Formosa, it also reinforces the entire public health system of the country, so we hope to continue on this path,” he said.

In this sense, he clarified that the inauguration corresponds to the Radiotherapy sector that is already in operation, serving more than 100 patients from Formosa, of which more than 50% do not have social work coverage.

“We must continue with the nuclear medicine part, which is the diagnostic part, what we are inaugurating is the treatment part, which is very important, but complementing it with the diagnostic part, this will be a center with unique characteristics, in the sense that it will have everything integrated ”, he explained.

Regarding this sector, Mutuberría indicated that the civil works are advancing, “with a reengineering of the entire stage of the positron emission tomograph (PET) in the diagnostic part; and another stage related to the cyclotron and radiopharmacy, that the cyclotron would be arriving in the middle of next year”.

“That is why we have an arduous task of setting up the facilities with everything related to engineering and reengineering to be able to install this equipment and put it into operation,” he reiterated.

Finally, he referred to the equipment of the center; and asserted that it is “state of the art” since linear accelerators have “superior characteristics” and have “a unique high-power equipment in the country” as well as high-dose rate brachytherapy “that allows to guarantee and have continuity in the treatments.
