The Council of Ministers, during its meeting today, at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, headed by Dr. Mostafa Mediouli, approved a draft decision to amend some provisions of Resolution No. 87 of 2022 regarding the rules implementing the provisions of the law granting some facilities to Egyptians residing abroad, in response to what was raised by Some Egyptians residing abroad want to import cars, seeking to grant more facilities in order to achieve the desired goals.
Ambassador Nader Saad, spokesperson for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, stated that the government considered it necessary to take into account the number of problems raised that faced some Egyptians residing abroad, as the amendments focused on canceling the requirement for depositing the amount that must be paid at least three months before the transfer, with It is sufficient to submit a bank statement of the account from which the amount was transferred, and the requirement for certification by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of residence, the bank statement and the car data certificate submitted by the Egyptian residing abroad has been cancelled.
The spokesperson added that the amendments provided for the transfer of the cash amount due according to the car category in the tables attached to the decision, reflecting the customs authority’s addition of graded categories (high, medium, normal) within each brand.
