In January 2023, serial production of Kama bicycles, popular in the 1970-1990s, will resume at the Forward Perm plant, and it will be possible to buy them in the spring, reports TASS December 13th.
Kama bicycles should go on sale in March-April 2023, and several prototypes have already been produced with subsequent refinement. It will be possible to buy a new model in the company’s stores in more than 400 cities of Russia, as well as in Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. In total, they plan to produce 3 thousand bicycles, the price of which is promised to be kept within 10 thousand rubles.
“In the current situation, it is very difficult to predict the dynamics of pricing, since the cost of components changes daily, but we are doing everything possible so that the cost does not exceed 10 thousand rubles,” Forward noted.
The updated “Kama” will be produced on the basis of the classic concept of a universal city bike, but with a number of improvements. According to the manufacturer TASS, Forward wants to modernize the old model: make the frame stronger, the fit more comfortable, and also install front and rear lights. A separate series of limited bicycles is planned for the 300th anniversary of Perm.
