The negotiators of the National Liberation Army, ELN, and of the National government already have headquarters for the second cycle of peace talks, the first round of which concludes this Monday in Caracas, Venezuela.
As it was known from Caracas, the dialogues will continue at the beginning of the year from Mexicoa country ruled by the left-wing president Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
“Mexico gladly and responsibly accepts hosting. We are reviewing the proposed dates and applications. In the coming days, the Government of Mexico will maintain communications with the parties,” said the delegate of that country.
Although there is no confirmed date, it is expected that the talks will resume as soon as possible, in the middle of January.
The news came out minutes before the start of the press conference in which both delegations will terminate the first cycle of talks which took place in Caracas with the support of the government of Nicolas Maduro.
