Head coach Paulo Bento of the Republic of Korea national football team will officially leave the Republic of Korea.
According to the Korea Football Association on the 12th, coach Bento will depart via Incheon International Airport on flight EK323 at 11:50 pm on the 13th.
Coach Bento took over as coach of the Korean national team in 2018 and took over the baton from coach Shin Tae-yong, who resigned following the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The Korean team successfully completed build-up soccer, which focuses on quick pressure and transition, and achieved the feat of advancing to the round of 16 at the Qatar World Cup.
Although he received a lot of criticism for his limited selection of players and stubborn tactical management, he was able to leave Korea with the full support of football fans by achieving the second ‘away round of 16’ in history.
At the Qatar World Cup, he was applauded for using equal tactics without retreating once morest world-class powerhouses such as Portugal, Uruguay, and Ghana.
