SHARJAH, 12th December, WAM, Sharjah Sports Council crowned the winners of the categories of the Khorfakkan Mountain Challenge, which was held yesterday in its fourth edition, where the first three places were won by Obaid Al Nuaimi, Moza Al Muhairi and Keres Brown.
The race witnessed the participation of 150 competitors of both sexes, and it included 5 categories, with a total of 42 winners who received financial prizes in addition to racing medals that represent the majestic Rabbi Mountain.
The event was a remarkable success, as it coincided with the International Day of Mountains, and it also comes within the plan of the Sharjah Sports Council for community sporting events.
The race enjoyed the interaction and enthusiasm of the contestants from different age groups, and many institutions and contributors participated in the event, including the Sharjah Police General Command, Sharjah Planning and Survey Department, Sharjah Radio and Television Authority, Khorfakkan City Municipality, Khorfakkan Club, Khorfakkan Hospital, Air Wing Administration, Civil Defense for the Eastern Region, Bee’ah Company, and the National Search and Rescue Center. And the Sand volunteer team and the Sharjah Volunteer Center.
The closing ceremony was attended by Abdullah Ali Sultan, member of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Sports Council, Salem Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Khorfakkan Club, Saeed Ali Al Ajal, a sports expert, and Yasser Omar Al Dokhi, Director of the Sports and Community Events Department in the Council.
